The History of ALDO
Aldo Products Company, Inc., was established in
1980 by a group of investors with extensive technical, manufacturing
and marketing experience in both the coating and adhesive industries.
The Research Chemist of the group brought his vast formulation background
along, and laid the groundwork for ALDOCOAT to soon become one the
most recognizable names in the coating industry.
The Early Years
During the 1980’s, Aldo Products
Company, Inc., supplied industry with adhesive products for various applications.
At this time, Aldo was also manufacturing coatings for roof applications,
both in roof restoration applications and as UV protective coatings
over spray polyurethane foam in roof installations.
As the business evolved, roof coating opportunities were realized as management recognized the market
potential of coatings within the roofing industry. In addition to
successfully marketing products under their own label, Aldo also
began to receive requests from coating marketers and other coating
manufacturers during the 1990's. Thus, the private label demand was born for top
quality ALDOCOAT roof coating products. The private label
business for both coatings and roofing adhesive products make up
an important part of the Aldo overall production.
Today
Several types of UV reflective, energy efficient
and waterproofing coatings, seam sealers and primers make up the
ALDOCOAT product line. Our focus remains on the high growth roof
coating segment of the overall roofing industry as market demands
for environmentally friendly and energy-saving products increase
annually. ALDOCOAT products are UL 790 Rated Class A roof systems,
FM Global (Factory Mutual) Approved and EPA Energy Star rated. Through
our network of Certified Applicators, we offer architects, consultants
and building owners an environmentally safe, cost effective and
efficient means to waterproof roofing systems, for both new and
existing structures.
All of our roof coating manufacturing has been
done for the last 20 years at our facility in Kannapolis, North
Carolina, 30 minutes from Charlotte. Our products are sold directly to the roofing contractor as well as through limited, specialized distribution. For installation of our coatings,
we seek out only the most experienced, qualified and respected professional roofing contractors. As a result, successful projects featuring ALDOCOAT
Roof Coating Products now stretch from North Carolina to the South
Pacific.
Aldo Products Company, Inc., is a proud member
of several trade associations, including the National Roofing Contractors
Association and the Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance. We can be seen exhibiting at the annual national trade
shows for each of these associations as well as smaller regional trade shows.
